Science Fair
Jake decided that he wanted to participate in the International Studies Science Fair this year. Since Chris and I have no idea how to help with a science project, we enlisted the help of our good friend Mrs. Melinda Cobb. She just happens to be a science teacher and one of Jake's favorite people! Mrs. Melinda picked Jake up from school 2 days in a row and they went to work!
The Praying Mantis was born! Jake did all of the research and wrote/typed all of the papers. He even went to Hobby Lobby and picked out the paper and board that he wanted. He worked very hard and was so proud of the outcome!
Jake was really worried that he would not win anything, but he was wrong! The teachers went through all of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Honorable mention awards for every grade first. Jake was upset because he didn't win anything for the second grade, but THEN..... They announced Best Overall for 1st-3rd grade and He WON! He was thrilled! Way to go Jake! Proud of you bud! A special Shout Out to Mrs. Melinda for all of the help!
Jake is 8!!
My Jakers is 8. I truly can not believe it. What an incredibly special boy he is! Chris' parents came the weekend before his birthday to celebrate. He got to pick where we ate out all weekend and got a new UT football jersey. He was VERY excited!
His birthday was on Monday, April 19th. Chris got up early and got donuts for the special day! He picked Upper Crust for his birthday dinner. It was a great day!
His birthday party was on Saturday the 24th. We had a great time at the bowling alley with church and school friends. Beware of lots of silly pictures ahead. 11 young boys at a bowling alley. Too much fun to be serious!
Birthday boy!
Birthday boy brother! (Who was just as excited that it was Jake's birthday as Jake was!)

Easter Weekend
We had a great Easter weekend. My mom and dad were able to come and spend it with us which is always great fun! We went out for Jake's birthday dinner on Friday night and spent all morning at the muddy soccer fields on Saturday morning.

I had a very hard time getting any descent Easter pictures as you can see. Most of them we are squinting in, but oh well! We went to Ray and Meta Winters house for Easter lunch and egg hunt. They are always great hosts and the food was yummy!
